English Literature 1 2017

Welcome to English Literature 1

Room: Koh Ke
Period: Thursday; 1:30 - 4:30

This course is designed to help you improve your basic English skills. With the use of Literature for English intermediate one, you will be introduced to different short stories written by famous writers. You will be able to understand the stories well as the language used in the stories are well organized and controlled and there are useful learning activities throughout the stories.

This blog is created to provide students with a basic platform to support the textbook and teaching and learning activities in class. It is a place where you have access to class materials and useful links to further practice including vocabulary, grammar, and understanding of the stories.

Evaluation and Grading Criteria
The final grade of the course is computed according to the following system:

1.     Class Attendance and Participation                 : 10%
2.     Homework/Tests/Quizzes                                : 10%
3.     Term Assignment/Presentations/Projects        : 15%
4.     Mid-term Examination                                    : 15%

5.     Final Examination                                           : 50%

Note:
          There will be at least 7 quizzes during the course. Some of them will be homework while others will be in class quizzes. However, only four quizzes are required for criteria 2.

          Assignment (criteria 3) will be writing a book review. It will be explained more after Mid-term exam, and format of a book review will also be provided.

          The Mid-term Exam will be scheduled in week 8 or 9.

         The Final Exam will be scheduled a few week after the course finishes.
